Practical information about direct marketing

Gonsul Oy (later Gonsul) has the right to process personal data necessary for its direct marketing activities, e.g. on the basis of a customer contract, consent or legitimate interest. With the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) coming into effect on May 25, 2018, Gonsul always asks for permission for direct marketing. You can refuse direct marketing.

Direct marketing and use of personal data

In connection with marketing, product and customer analyses, Gonsul uses personal data. Marketing activities, development of processes, business and systems, including testing, are based on the processing of personal data. This way we can improve our product range and optimize the services offered to customers.

In certain situations, we ask you to consent to the processing of your personal data. The request for consent contains information about the processing of the data in question. If you have already given your consent to direct marketing, you also have the right to withdraw your consent. The purpose of processing personal data in direct marketing is

a) Provide our customers with information about our new products.

b) Tell Gonsul about ongoing offers or upcoming campaigns.

Gonsul collects, processes and analyzes information about the use, traffic, and events of Internet pages and the services offered on them. It is possible that data sets are formed from the above-mentioned data, which enable statistical data processing.

In its direct marketing, Gonsul uses cookies to guarantee the operation of online services, to track the interests of visitors to websites and online services, and to target marketing.

How can I unsubscribe from the direct marketing register?

Leaving the direct marketing register requires your own activity. Gonsul uses a marketing system where, in order to prevent abuses, the person must remove themselves, either partially or completely, from Gonsul's marketing system. With the entry into force of the GDPR regulation, all direct marketing messages from Gonsul (e.g. e-mails) have the option to cancel the direct marketing either completely or in the applicable parts as desired by the person himself.

How do I get a link to my own information in my email?

1. You can unsubscribe from Gonsul's direct marketing register by opening a previous direct marketing message from Gonsul (for example, an email containing marketing). Move the mouse to the bottom of the message and click on the link where (depending on your language settings) it says "cancel here" or "unsubscribe here".

The link will take you to the selection page where you can complete

a) Partial removal (recommended), i.e. the person himself determines what he wants to receive from Gonsul's direct marketing.

b) Complete opt-out (English: OPT OUT) > when you deny yourself all communications related to marketing: Unsubscribe me from all mailing lists

2. If you cannot find the old marketing message sent by Gonsul, you can contact our customer service and we will help you.

At the end of the message, you can leave Gonsul's direct marketing register, either partially or completely, in accordance with the operating model and instructions of point one (1).

How can I add myself to the direct marketing register?

Ordering direct marketing communication requires your own activity. Gonsulin uses a marketing system where, in order to prevent abuse, the person must order the direct marketing they want. With the entry into force of the GDPR regulation, most of the direct marketing messages from Gonsul, ordering websites, etc., have the option to order direct marketing.
